For several generations, the dark worshipers of He Without A Name, an ancient God who was last locked away during the time of the sinking of Atlantis, have been attempting to revive their fallen deity. Recently, they have come closer to achieving their goals than ever before, when they performed an ancient incantation that broke one of his seals and, unfortunately for them, raised the Kingdom of Atlantis, which, in it's millenia of isolation, had become a technologic powerhouse of nearly unimaginable might.
Unleashed once again upon the Earth, the return of Atlantis drew the ire of the Experimental Vaults, the remnants of a society that had pushed science to it's very limits, learning to animate corpses with electricity, and to combine the genetic make up of humans and animals. Though they hated the Nation of He Without A Name, in a moment of desperation, they allied themselves with the cultists, seeing Atlantis and their technologic marvels as being far worse than the some fools practicing long forgotten magic.
On the other end of the spectrum, the Barren Wastes, home to vampires and lycanthropes alike, found themselves greatly perturbed by the actions of the Experimental Vaults and the Nation of He Without A Name. Forming a tentative alliance with Atlantis, they have begun preparing for a massive war with their new found enemies, seeking to stop the return of He Without A Name at any cost.
Caught in the middle of all this madness is the Realm of Enlightenment. A group of mysterious men and women who no longer see reality as the other nations do. Though they are, indeed, quite powerful, they are still only a match for the other nations. Seeking a position of neutrality, the Realm of Enlightenment only seeks peace with all of their brother nations, fearing no backlash from He Without A Name, who they belief to be only an illusion, despite the rise of Atlantis.
Now, this world teeter precariously on the edge of war. Each nation's leader is the most powerful example of their nation, and is unaffected by the abilities of their fellow leaders. Acting as generals in battle, and as diplomats amongst one another, they each seek to find a means to their own desires.
The Nation of He Without A Name seeks to spread their religious message, though they seem to have stopped attempting to raise their God with their newest leader, who claims that He Without A Name no longer seeks freedom, but instead seeks to rule from afar.
The Realm of Enlightenment seeks to maintain balance in their world, and to avoid anyone nation overpowering any other, for fear of disrupting the natural order of things.
The Land of Atlantis seeks to remain at the surface now, and use their technologies to control the world they had once been locked off from, seeing their fellow nations as too backwards to be allowed sovereignty.
The Experimental Vaults seek to keep Atlantis from forcing upon the world a fate similar to their own, seeing themselves as monstrosities, and unworthy of truly being called 'human'.
And, the Barren Wastes seek to expand their power. Having been descended from men and women banished from their respective homelands, they bear a strong grudge against all other nation, except possibly Atlantis, due to their long separation from the world in which they all live.
In a world straddling the edge between modern times and classic mythologies, the fate of this world has yet to be decided...
